Private The Roe of Stranger Tides

Osytha is regarded with another run-away 'snarling demon' happy grin that conveys understanding. Lock is large, larger than most things and could even contend with Forbitter, he was made for breaking things and holding things and sometimes moving things, but not for roughhousing little puppers...

She inhales to say something else, but stops mid-breath. Eyes narrow, directed to a point in space. "You're right." Mouth closes. "It means a level of respect and maybe birthright to you, right? It's birthright to me, but if you use it and are not part of the collective, it just feels wrong...
  3. Krava'quiloor

Private The Roe of Stranger Tides

Lock rumbles a low 'mhm', and ducks a little lower. His massive tail, wrapped around his folded legs, twitches with just a tip. Hello there. Whiskers tremble, and he tries to crouch-walk a little closer to the lop-eared pupper, gauge its interest, while remaining low to the ground enough so as...

Private The Roe of Stranger Tides

♬ Martia's Muses - Pumpkinshire She meets the glance. Lowers slowly beside Osytha, hand finding the edge of the porch. There is no more seat to be had, but the air seems to hold. The dress falls in smooth long folds, there's nothing there. The Shroud breathes, slowly, and the moons race across...
  5. Krava'quiloor

Private The Roe of Stranger Tides

When the plaid is not taken, it is passed on to Lock, who rests it gently wherever he can find where it cannot be dirtied, and pats it on top, making sure to keep the claws in. Osytha is not an enemy. But, there is an unstable quality to her, from being pushed too much, from not resting. The...
  6. Krava'quiloor

Private The Roe of Stranger Tides

The tides betray no apprehension, they merely flow around, and leave the courtesy of memory to remain in place - a sentiment, for the most part. Lock doesn't object. He works. He keeps an eye on Osytha, but doesn't try to strike a conversation, anymore. Just tries to purr something under his...
  7. Krava'quiloor

Private The Roe of Stranger Tides

The tides that have permeated every mind and keep them all floating gently along the guided currents - keep their distance. No more words left to say that haven't already been. Birds fly overhead, unbothered. The wind fills with a seagull's cry, then another, calling back and forth as the sea...

Private The Roe of Stranger Tides

He doesn't reply in her head. His eyes are mostly blue. There is no presence beside him at this moment, no ghost of his lady, though she would come if he as much as thought that her attention required division in this moment. "You arre sad," he purrs low, his eyes closing in a slow...
  9. Krava'quiloor

Private The Roe of Stranger Tides

She was not heartless, but she knew when the buzz in the air became so much that it stopped registering in anything other than the pure pain. They weren't close to the poor woman, and she was one of the strong ones. Strong ones grieved all alone when they were too used to their mold. Poor thing...
  10. Krava'quiloor

Private The Roe of Stranger Tides

"My things." Krava repeated out loud. The tides receded from Osytha in entirety as she dove into her own thoughts. For all the parading of treating one another like equals - those were fisherfolk, human, and not a single one of them a weaver. Her potential put her into position of their...
  11. Krava'quiloor

Private The Roe of Stranger Tides

Lock shook his head, but sat on his haunches, to loom a bit less over the rest and allow Forbitter to be the tallest loomer for a little while. That helped. Krava's fingers dug into his fur with a bit of something held close the palm. Lock twitched, shook like a dog wringing wet from his fur...
  12. Krava'quiloor

Private The Roe of Stranger Tides

They both watched her, Lock with his eyes and she through his, as Osytha made her way down cliff. Had a rock crumble underfoot, caught, leapt. Lock's worry diminished the lower the knight got to the ground. Krava was calm. The failure could not lie in the reaction speed nor body's ability now...
  13. Krava'quiloor

Private The Roe of Stranger Tides

The tide receded. She missed that place, where the tribe operated on a gruff, efficient logic that didn't have time for pretences or the sicknesses of the mind. Still, no names, and no location. 'I gave them some of the understanding. Long ago. But most of it, they have cultivated themselves.'...

    Open Turgor

'You think of yourself so little? Or should I not defend myself because you think so? I mend the wounds humans cause with their incessant violence. Better still, no undead will rise and wander to cause further harm where I pass. I do not worship the decay that poisons, and I know so many ways...

Private The Roe of Stranger Tides

"Hmh. Some days I'm not sure it isn't the same for Lock. Darling as he is." the not-elf sighed, and there was love for simpler creatures in that sigh. She looked at the crescent at the crest of the wave distort and disperse into foam as the shuffling tide swept across the beach below. "Most...
