Red toed, red legged, and red eared, the long limbed jester, behorned and pale masked, lounged atop a tree branch without a care in the whole wide world. One leg crossed atop the other. Toe pointing in one direction, flexed away the next. Fingers picking at his lyre whilst he rest his head there...

Bit by bit. Soul by soul. The big tent did grow. Fatter and fatter. Its skin did stretch. With too many bodies, all crushed, made to wretch. The pile grew taller. And all the bits and pieces of each nightmare found their way in. Wyrm bones and snake skins. Carcasses half eaten. Worms gushing...

Rumble and roll, all through the night. Creek and squeak, with an awful delight. The train carts of terror, did rattle on through. Thumping and breaking, all who ran to. See the nightmares. See the jollies. All the creatures, mirrored follies. To you. To them. Who knew? Not Lem. Crack...

Eyes narrowed to tired and unamused slits. Lift the mallet head from the ruin it had dolled out, hung it from wrap of long red-gloved fingers, and felt the ache of his cheeks curl with the twist of his hidden grin. Watched. Listened. Felt. The cruel twist of jolly and mischief gone so...

A scowl most fowl curled and curdled, boiled and seethed, there in the darkness behind the painted pale mask. "Polly took my cracker," the words fell out of his lips all drip and drop like caustic fumes from cracked vial. Confetti and party mess all swirl and sail. The kazoos sprout like weeds...

The pumpkins and the roots. "Now, there's an audience," the tall clown purred behind his mask. Gave a gracious bow to the withering sustenance so gathered in rows and bunches. Capped as they were in stalks and leaves, and spirally vines. As to the nines as gourds and a celery could hope to be...

"One could only hope, the stuff is worth its weight in gold. And good for the pigs who slopped it up. Better for the dead grannies that heard such perfectly false applause, on their way down to whatever put upon hell they believed in. May they rot in the cheer so pathetically crafted" The...

Proud as Pierrot, if only in a breath. "The Fellows Jubilant," he said, too straight, too cold in the knock of tongue and teeth. "Now there's a name," the words curled dark, halfway to impressed. The zip of his star-light stare struck onto Vorston. All shaggy beard and soft. "Explosive?" The...

Pointed and purposeful. Prone to antagonize and satirize. A lover of the dramatic. A stirrer of trouble. A mischief maker. Not the sort of person you want to find yourself adventuring with. But hey, if you do, its best to try and get on his good side. Where do I come from? Why, wouldn't you...

Silver eyes narrowed at the word. Harlequin. Their lids squeezed by the red hands of contempt. They flit down to find the ancient toddler. There upon, they turned crescents with his smile. Cold as distant starlight. "Yes," he all but hissed at the warm welcome. Head keeled to observe the...

"My," the voice rumbled from on down below. The pits of shadow that bubbled and popped and hissed. "A whole committee, just for mee," a laugh that wound tight as a rope come taught. "You really had no need to do such a thing, Vorston," the darkness tried the name again. As if it had placed it...
