House Tourmalet
At the foot of the Mheara Mountains, where the land weeps silver and blood in equal measure, stands the Iron Gate, a bastion carved into the bones of the mountains itself. This is the seat of House Tourmalet. Wealth flows to them not from fields, but from beneath the earth itself; rubies, tourmalines, iron, jet. Gemstones harvested from veins older than kings, bartered in blood with the Runefolk.Coat of Arms: A white mountain cleft by a golden/yellow hammer poised above it. Tiny veins of dark green (symbolizing gemstones) run through the mountain. The background is deep blue.

The family has few enemies, as they actively avoid being drawn into any major conflicts. House Tourmalet is more concern with protecting their valuable trade transports from robbers and their mines from raids. They would not waste swords on anything else. The fact that they avoid taking a stand in most affairs can irritate many. Some call House Tourmalet cowards, stingy, and as cold as their beloved mountains.
Upon the death of Dylar til’ Tourmalet, House Tourmalet was thrusted into the hands of his son, Orland. A man with a restless hunger and the boldness of a king. No longer content to remain a shadowed power of wealth and quiet trade, Orland has his heart set on glory and fame. He has ignited a new flame within the house that had long been content to hide in the shadows of its own wealth.
