Age  110
Gender  Male
Origin  Born to Expedition Runefolk of Overlands
Occupation  Caravan Escort/Sellsword

"The versatile nature of swords isn't for most my statue. But I like learning more than chopping or hammering. Many folks carry a sword for good reason, and that means a lot of different folks learning different lessons right for them. I like to keep my options wide as this here sword is. Short as you might call it. Don't forget, closing time is in an hour, let's eat a while and talk of stances. Always good to talk to someone about something from another viewing angle." - Austri Rulvir, Caravan Guard

Appearance

Height  4 foot
Build  Staunch
Hair  Black
Eyes  Green

A runefolk of long black hair about the head and face, well postured and more limber and expressive with this posture and gestures, self respecting his stances, eyes affixed without meanness nor naivety. Clearly one accustomed to the labours of the physical, but accustomed to being free of tight confines of industry and underground dwellings. Unlike most Runefolk who might tight draw their cards to their chest in emotion, Austri hides not his expression in reservedness or beard. The fellow clearly knows the demands of sword dances, yet bears not the marks of scars of duels on hand or face. Unblemished from smoke from furnace, his skin has drank much of sunlight, his green eyes that of fresh leaves in their early flourishing.

Personality

Adaptable to new ideas and learning opportunities, eager to foster the structures that binds people to memories, moments and triumphs, Austri has faith in the value of coexistence without need to place chistle onto another's foundations. He is well meaning, earnest but wise to perils from the haphazards of errant boldness. He keeps company better than most Runefolk might indulge, listening without sourness and actively, sincere in attentions to the well known and newly found. He clearly has a military history, but it has not made him as flint to spark warnings from, rather as master of his own cheerfulness he provides compassionate and practical kindling to rougher moments.

Skills

Art of Sword - A handful of schools of swordplay lives within his hand. To watch him fight is to see a runefolk adapt the bladestyle of traditions numerous and diverse, serving flexible rudiments to his martial manners.

Rudiments of Working Leather, Crafting Pipes and Surviving Woodlands - Austri is firmly a Runefolk who could be called an outdoorsman. The sort that could assemble themselves a shack in secluded wood, and not worry much about their lot of land lacking means to thrive. Tools fashioned, leather worked, pipes whittled and foods prepared, Austri is more at home making wild places touched by sun a comfort than stone walls of hearths.

Nature's Boon - A wealth of unknown facets has been granted to him to be uncovered. Of vine and ivy and root and soil. Those akin to druids and nature's blessings might recognise the potentials he has scarce explored, but tested well enough to know their grace. His Runefolk frame can adopt features of foliage, of thorns and root, slow forming and sustaining from light, from soil, from osmosis. Striders of forest might know of similiar talents granted by the blessings of barkclad spirits.

Morale Awareness, Emotional Diligence, Sympathetic Countermeasures - Far greater than the predipositions of Runefolk naturally to have, Austri is sensitive to the shifting internal concerns and conflicts of others. While others of his ilk might churn balkish word without regard, Austri is deeply in tune with the social dynamics and his part within them. This might seem unremarkable to some, but many times has his attentions seen his comrades well by noticing the unspoken, the unsaid, the gesture which indicates a problem before others might even be aware. To some Runefolk this can seem as mind reading. To others more sensitive by nature, he is simply a good talking companion who is respectful and a finer guest to invite gladly for indulging fancy and new social dynamics dancing rightly. Such as served him well in guarding caravans, a broad range of peoples travelled with, well travelled in customs and tastes of diverse peoples. More than most, Austri gets amiably with new peoples and their situations, and is patient with the novel experience arising.
