The Daa'ra's workshop was located deep within the center of the floating city's structure. Here was where the engineers and magical artisans worked to maintain the city's stability. Many on the city's surface took it for granted that the city remained in the sky. They didn't understand the integral and meticulous work that was involved, but then again nor did she expect them to. She certainly didn't do this work for recognition, she did it cause she enjoyed it because she found it interesting, thought provoking, and inspiring. She helped to keep the city in air. Made sure their way of life could continue. Granted, she knew that she didn't do this on her own. There were dozens of others who could manipulate the crystals and their magic, but without them all the city would sink until it crashed into the surface. A terrifying thought.

The small woman leaned over the edge of a wooden crate. A crate full of crystals that had been brough in from the mines out in the sands. She wore a think pair of gloves so as not to contaminate or influence the crystals. Probably too much of a precaution, but one she took none-the-less. There was the sound of crystals clinking together as she filled the little basket that she held before the stood and moved back over to her workbench. Each crystal had to be graded, tested for it's properties before being committed to powering the city's flight. Only the highest quality of crystals could be used. Someone once tried to use inferior crystals and the city sank a whole foot. Likely would have sank more if someone hadn't caught the error. Now they were careful. The crystals Palesa sorted as appropriate would go to another to be double checked. Just like she would receive someone else's work as well.

As she settled in her seat, there was a smaller velvet lined box on top where the S quality crystals sat. She'd only pulled a few from the large crate behind her so far. At her feet sat several other boxes steadily being filled with various qualities of crystals. Some would go to the engineers to see what could be created. Others she and the other crystal weavers would keep to do research with. Things that were promising the engineers and the crystal weavers would get together on in collaboration. The rest would be sold in the city and to other nations since exporting the crystals was one of the major sources of income.

The door to her workspace opened and Isra appeared in it. "Isra!" She exclaimed happy to set aside her work for a moment. She'd been staring at crystals all morning and it felt like it was time for a break. Standing she stretched a bit walking over to the other woman. "What do you have today? Anything interesting?" She asked eagerly as she moved over to a second worktable and began to clear off space. Isra and Palesa often worked together as Engineer and Crystal Mage, nearly partners in their work.
