Born in Astenvale, raised amongst the Wilds, and descended from a family that hunted the things that go bump in the night, Duncan bears the burden of family lineage. Inundated at a young age, he was taught to fight, to hunt, and to be patient, yet Duncan does not seek out monsters for the sake of it. There is an urge to understand why. To understand nature. He would not kill a snake simply because it bit him, because that is the snake’s nature. His mission is not merely to hunt out creatures that kill, instead he ventures to seek out evil in all its forms and end it.

Appearance

Height  5’ 8”
Build  Athletic
Hair  Brown
Eyes  Green

Duncan Ashmoor is a hard-worn man in his prime, lean and weathered from years spent hunting things most people never see. He is of an average height and build, with dark hair and green eyes, and is otherwise unremarkable. His armor bears the scars of a dozen battles with fell beasts, and every pockmark and tear tells a brutal story.

Personality

Duncan is quieter than most and infinitely patient. He is suspicious by nature, slow to trust, and inclined to meet problems head-on rather than wait for them to resolve themselves. Beneath the hardened exterior is someone still struggling to decide what kind of man he wants to be—and whether the legacy he inherited is something to carry or something to escape.

Skills

A capable tracker and experienced monster hunter, Duncan knows how to follow a trail, set a trap, and put down a creature before it becomes a larger problem. He is skilled with both blade and bow, favoring practical methods over flashy ones. He can read well enough, his talent with writing is sub par, but when he has the time and can, he enjoys cooking. He carries a pouch of spices to improve his meals on the road, as well as ingredients for healing and mending wounds. There is also an untamed magical talent within him—powerful enough to be dangerous, though not yet refined enough to be entirely predictable.
