An intensely magical race of ethereal beauty, the Elves generally consider themselves to be a race perfected. While there are indeed those among their kind who shun this obsession over purity and the survival of the fittest, most of their race keeps to themselves within the forests and plains of Suldaza (or as they prefer to call it, Saldaesa). There, amongst their own kin, the Hundred Houses of the Elves, and their nobles and warriors are locked in an eternal spring and autumn of petty battles and squabbles over territory and prestige, often at the expense of the commonfolk and the landborn.
Biology
The Elves’ most striking feature are their pointed ears, which earns them the moniker “Knifefolk”. Otherwise, Elvenkind is mostly similar to humans, if a bit taller and leaner. The nobility and warriors are in peak physical condition, while the commonfolk and the landborn are often thin to the point of starvation. They often keep their hair long and loose, and their eyes are pearly and opalescent orbs, lacking pupils. Elves do not often grow facial hair (unless they have non-Elven ancestry) and have little body hair.
The Elves are a race born for war, and so they mature rapidly, reaching physical maturity at roughly 15 years of age, and full adulthood by around 20. They remain at the peak of their physical prime until around 250 years of age, but even then they suffer few infirmities associate with old age. However, especially in the Harannossë, the Elves often fall while they are in their prime, so it is a rare Elf within the eastern forests and plains that survive beyond 200.

Relationship with the Shroud
The Elves have a deep connection to the Shroud, one that grants their entire race the ability to manipulate it from birth. However, while the Elves are all shroudweavers of varying degrees of skill, they are generally much weaker than the average shroudweaver of other races. Nonetheless, what the Elves lack in strength they often make up for in numbers and in skill.
