"Golden slumbers fill your eyes
Smiles awake you when you rise
Sleep pretty darling
Do not cry and I will sing a lullaby"

Selena Raukoeur, Kellis' mother, did not become a mother because she wanted to be one. Nor, was the choice to become laden with child made because she wanted a child of her own. Her child was conceived (on her part), with the intention of allowing her to give birth to the ember that would start the inferno intended to burn the life, wealth, power, and reputation of a certain elven lord to ashes.
This was, of course, in the time before she had taken the position of Archdruid of The Druidic Circle of the Moon Mother. She, like the son she would come to bear, did not wish to take the place of Archdruid from her mother before her. Selena did not feel her mother, or their circle, did enough to protect the wilderness that they worshiped and called home from the hands of those who wished to tame and capitalize it for their own gain. Her mother wanted to talk to the people felling trees for lumber and trapping animals for their fur. Talking was not enough for Selena. She did not want to wait for the rich and powerful to take pity on her circle and on nature. She wanted to strip them of all they held dear, their wealth and reputation, just as they had stripped nature of its innocent kin.
Selena found her revenge beneath the sheets with an elf named Anarion of the Elven High House, Falwing. She did not know why he allowed her into his bed, as he had a wife of his own and a handful of children, but alas, they spent the night together. Selena did not expect the elf to keep her around, nor did she want to be delegated to a life as Anarion's secret mistress, so much to his delighted pleasure, she was gone before he woke the following day.
The plan had been to conceive this elf's child and expose him, not only as unfaithful in marriage, but as someone who would stoop so low as to bed a non-elf and sire a bastard, half-blooded child. This remained Selena's plan for most of her time carrying Kellis, but a little over half way through her pregnancy, her mother was mortally wounded during an altercation with the same people with which she insisted upon peaceful communication and had no choice but to step down as Archdruid and expected her daughter to take her place. Selena reluctantly accepted her mother's position and learned what she could under her mother's direction and wisdom in order to lead their circle.
Unfortunately, Selena's mother did not live to see the birth of her grandson. Kellis had been born a moon after his grandmother passed and for whatever reason, she kept him. Maybe this was due loneliness at the loss of her mother, guilt for the time she spent butting heads with her, or simply the chance to keep the memory and spirt of her mother alive by being for her child what her mother had been for her. She could not help but love him, despite the sting in her heart that a new battle would lay over the horizon due to both his half-elven ancestry and the fact that he was male in the position of being next in line for leadership in a matriarchal druidic circle.
"Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling
Do not cry and I will sing a lullaby"
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling
Do not cry and I will sing a lullaby"
While Selena did all that she could to raise her child with love and in the spirit of her circle, Kellis' gender remained an omnipresent issue that began to sever the circle in two. There were those who, while uncomfortable with the idea of the Archdruid's sole offspring being male, were resigned to embrace this change out of loyalty to Selena, as she had proven to be a skilled druid and leader. At their opposition were those who threatened to leave the circle due to the feeling that Kellis' birth was an ill-omen and a sign from the Moon Mother that Selena was not fit to be Archdruid. The circle was, in a sense, asking Selena to choose between her people and her child. It was a choice she could not bear to make and so when Kellis was seven years old Rimpira, the circle's Second Druid, made it for her, and stole Kellis away.
Anarion had not been idle since his night with Selena. He had continued to collect and build upon his power and wealth and for that reason, he found himself in an extremely difficult when Rimpira sent a message to him, informing him of his half-blooded illegitimate child. She gave the elven lord a choice. Take Kellis in and raise him as his own, without seeking out Selena to return him or she would expose the fact that he had a bastard son to all who would listen within Harannossë. Anarion chose the former choice and reluctantly took the half-blood in, although not without ensuring that his son would always know how little he meant to him.
"Boy you're gonna carry that weight
Carry that weight a long time"
Carry that weight a long time"
Since that day, Kellis has been raised within the walls of his father's home. A being of nature, constantly pruned of any behaviors seen as too wild or unbecoming of a young elf. He is expected to carry himself in a way which does not allude to his mixed heritage, lest he make his father look imperfect to the rest of elven society. Anarion wants nothing more than for his son to suffer, less so out of hatred for him, but out of spite and animosity towards Kellis' mother.
For as much time as he has been able, Anarion has sent Kellis to any place other than the family home that he can manage, whether that be boarding schools, far off study, or familial tasks that require him to be spending the majority of his time in inns. The only constants for him being his animal companion, Cherche and his voracious desire to study and learn all that he is able about healing, medicine, and magic.
"I never give you my pillow,
I only send you my invitations
And in the middle of the celebrations,
I break down"
Appearance
Height 6'
Build Lightly muscular, but more so lithe
Hair Light blond
Eyes Light Blue
In his more "human-like" form, Kellis somewhat tall, at least amongst his mother's people with whom he has spent most of his life with, although more lean than others within his circle due to a lack of experience with combat. He has light skin with an array of freckles across his nose, cheeks, shoulders, and upper arms.
In terms of racial resemblance to his parents' people, Kellis takes more so after his father, who is an Elf, in that he lacks the horns and tail of his mother's, who is Devahni, people, and is more tall, lean, and carries the quintessential "Elven beauty" in his features. He does, however, carry some Devahni traits, such as claw-like nails, sharp and pointed top and bottom cuspid teeth, slit-like pupils that shine at night, amber-gold blood, and the ability to take on a primordial form.
In Kellis' primordial form, he takes on the form of a large, golden furred rabbit. This form is about the size of a grizzly bear, lacks the horns that Devahni primordial forms tend to have, but does have similar sharp claws and fangs (on either side of his lapine incisors).

Personality
Kellis tends to be more on the quiet side due to a general feeling of being "other" in comparison to the rest of the members of his immediate family, house, and elven society. Unlike his brothers, he has no real interest in politics, power, or wealth and by extension, has no interest in ever becoming a prominent member of his father's house.
Due to the fact that Kellis does not feel as though he truly belongs to either of his parents' races, he has a very intense drive and desire to be liked, wanted, and approved of. He will go to great lengths to gain another's approval, especially if it seems that the other person will want to keep him around and make him feel wanted. This can, on occasion, cause a bit of problematic behavior to rise in him, such as making ill-advised decisions due to believing it will serve to bring him the warmth he desires. It is in this way that he resembles his father's elven vanity more than his mother's more grounded nature.
The one thing that Kellis tends to be very confident about is his medical and healing skills. He takes great pride in being able to help others heal and recover and is borderline voracious for new medical and healing knowledge.
Lastly, Kellis is very sensitive to feelings (and general cause) of rabbits, being that he is one himself from time to time and that his constant animal companion, Cherche*, is one as well. He can often be found hanging out with Cherche and/or wild rabbits, coming to their aid, and generally looking after them if possible.
*Cherche is a small, female, golden furred rabbit who is about the size of the area of one's palms if they cupped them together. She is usually either sitting on Kellis' shoulder, burrowed in his robes, or hopping around at his feet. (OOC: She really offers him no literary/tactical advantage other than her ability to gather and find herbs for Kellis, act sassy, and create situations where he can interact with other characters while trying to get her out of trouble and is mostly there just because she is his best friend.)

Skills
Kellis is well educated and knowledgeable on natural and spiritual healing, medicine, and remedies, as well as having a workable knowledge-base of medicine that comes from more developed and industrialized origins (ie medicine used in cities, towns, etc. instead of tribal/spiritual medicine). He has very surface level knowledge of surgical practices (ie removing foreign and/or organic objects from a body), but greatly prefers to not have to perform surgery unless it is absolutely needed and will happily bow out to allowing someone else to do it.
He is able to draw from the shroud to magically heal wounds, aid in the mending of broken bones, and fight off infection/poisons/illness by causing one's natural healing processes to accelerate, but in doing so, the individual being magically healed tends to either get quite hungry and or tired due to the increased work their body has done. He cannot bring anyone or anything back from the dead, cure a disease or ailment that is not physically curable, regrow lost limbs. He also can only heal someone to the extent that their body is able to handle (ie repetitively healing the same person many times within a short period of time without their body being able to rest and regain energy/stamina).
Although he does not use this skill as much, Kellis is a trained aesthetician. He is fairly knowledgeable about cosmetic use and application, as well as styling hair and fashion. He is not entirely forthcoming about this knowledge either as his father is not approving of his son having what he sees as a skill fit only for low class slaves.
As stated above, Kellis can take the form of a large golden rabbit about the size of a grizzly bear. He does not have a great amount of control over this form and tends to shift into it when experiencing great or intense emotion. In this form his senses are heightened and he is much stronger and faster, as well as has more stamina.
Lastly, Kellis is able to draw from the shroud to enable him to communicate with rabbits. He is likely able to extend this communication with other animals too with practice and effort, but he has not bothered to do so, mostly just because his real interest in communicating with rabbits is so he can talk to Cherche.
