Somewhere in The Free States backed by rolling hills which brought snow in the winter months and kissed by a coast line, lay a small, ancient kingdom - Routé
The Beginning
Routé began as a small seaside settlement by a group of weary sailors. consisting mainly of warriors from different walks of life. Thousands of years ago, a story passed down bloodlines was that they were guided across the seas as they fled from an ancient war by a dragon who lead them to the a cold, sandy beach in the East of The Free States and beyond the sandy bank fields of lilies welcomed them.
Slowly, they began building a community which eventually blossomed into the kingdom it is today. The Routens are rich in culture, they believe that your neighbor should be treated as your family and one hand feeds the other. They are a giving people but are very strict when it comes to tradition. One of the biggest festivals in Routé is the Lilly of Lights Festival. People of neighboring kingdoms even flock to experience it.
The Routens are also known to be fierce warriors who still practice ancient ways of war which many only now hear of in stories, they are also clearly marked via facial tattoos [ refereed to as markings ] as they move up into the ranks , a very sacred tradition.

Political Sigils:
- When called to aid in a war or wanting aid, their allies are aware they must send a white Lilly covered in blood or the call will not be answered.
- When wanting to envoke war or battle, they will issue a black Lilly. A black Lilly in their culture is seen as a way to enact violence. The black Lilly has also known to be delivered by enemies.

Appearance
The majority of the kingdom in built out of sandstone. The kingdom is spacious and from the back is hugged by beautiful mountains and thick forest lining whilst the front kissed by the ocean
A sight to see when in Routé would be the 'Shield Wall'. The shield wall is located at the side of the Kingdom closest to the mountains, this wall is exactly as its name states and is a large sandstone structure covered in the shields of Routen soldiers who have fallen in battle with their names engraved underneath, among them is the shield of Prince Devano, the brother of Queen Esmerlda who was meant to take the throne after their late father.
Military
Route is also known to have one of the most intense training regimes for young warriors and only train those in sacred Routen combat once seen worthy through a series of trials. As warriors move up in the ranks their achievements and rank is shown via tribal marking on their face, neck and upper body.
Whilst they navy is strong, their land warriors are almost unmatched and are known for their bravery.
When it comes to weaponry they stick to the classical sword but it is not scarce you will see a member wielding an ax or spear, especially on the battle field. While they are skilled every militant has their weakness and Routé's happens to be their archers.
Indigenous Fauna
Méchantâ Wolves
Many believe them to be spirits that followed the original settlers of Routé on their trip across the seas and seemingly remained in Routé and took it apon themselves to become spiritual protects and many believe, physical when the time comes
These "Wolves" are only ever seen in pairs and only appear at the Lilly Of Lights Festival and when looking for them they can be seen standing upon rooftops watching the festival below.
Garnet Dragons
Garnet Dragons are tiny version of their magnificent, 'normal sized' cousins.
They are friendly in nature and personality represent a mixture of playful puppy and affectionate cat.
This sub species was unfortunately not dealt a generous hand when it comes to intelligence but they make up for it in cuteness overloads.
Garnet Dragons are not hard to spot in Routé as they roam the streets. They can also be kept as pets and old folk tails said they indigenous to Routé as a way to remind their people of their heritage.
Fashion
Majority of the native fashion is made up of outfits of leather and fur with pops of colour found in shirts or dresses. However, due to a growing refugee population,
many other fashion choices are often seen and welcomed.
Wars
Like any kingdom, Routé has faced its fair share of wars and battles - the most recent being; The Battle Of The Bay.
This battle occurred when raiders from the sea docked in the Kingdoms harbor, their ill intentions were quickly made clear and the battle spanned over three days as by the hour more of the invaders ships began to pull into the bay. The fighting moved constantly between the waters and the land, the end all occurring in the kingdom itself when the invaders leader was slain by King Rowen of Routé. Unfortunately, Routé's victory came with a cost, among the lives lost of their own people was King Rowens son and heir.
Lifestyle
Routens pride themselves on being a self-sufficient people. With furs being a popular part of Routien attire, and their armor made of leather, the hunters go into their own forest in search of bears and elk, it is very seldom that hunters come back empty handed.
Their farm land are also rich in nutrients, producing some of the highest quality cotton ( which aids in the production of some of the finest silks ) and an abundance of wheat alongside rich vineyards.
They are a people that enjoy festivities and will eagerly celebrate with you. Routé has also slowly began building a reputation as a safe haven for those fleeing their homeland due to wars or disaster.

The Perfugae is a small organization in Route that is set up to help in assistance with Refugees that have found the Kingdom as their safe-haven. They assistance in financing for those that wish to start a business that is believed to be a success. A hostel is also in place for those who have not yet found permanent accommodation.
The Perfugae also deal with any xenophobic matters that may arise withing the Kingdom or its borderlands.

I would say that the routen culture dress/native dress is very much viking/nordic inspired
