"What?"

The thought would not have crossed Arbok's mind in a month of Fridays to poison anyone. It sounded awful to die like that, all clutching your throat and gasping. It was not a preferred way to go at all.

"I didn't, I wouldn't I mean..."

A paused relief came over her as she realized that Laric was messing with her and she smiled.

"Oh I get it, it's a joke, I get jokes."

Sometimes she did but her years of isolation with her Gran left her lacking in some of the social nuances of people. Humour was a big one she often tripped over. The Monks at the Abbey had said she was "socially underdeveloped" so in saying it she was eager to convince Laric of how normal she was and how much she understood such things.

"I only hurt anyone when I don't watch where I'm..."

The poor cat beneath her foot screamed as her impressive foot closed down on its tail.

"AGH, SORRY, I'm sorry!"

Reflexively she lifted her foot again and stepped back and looked at Laric with wide eyed embarrassment.

"I didn't mean it, I'm sorry."

@Laric

"Sorry... cat I didn't mean it I just have big... everything."
It was a curse as much as a blessing. Sure she could lift but she also stepped on cats and walked into doorways.

"Really?"
Using sound to heal sounded like magic to her but she wasn't going to argue, she couldn't so much as create a whiff of smoke magically.

"I wish I could do that. I broke my thumb last winter fixing tiles and the cold hurt something awful. Maybe I should get a cat. Do you think it works on people near them as well?"

She was getting distracted. The real point he asked about was in fact very accurate.

"The cat told you about Saskia? That's amazing. Yeah she's here somewhere. I wanted to meet you alone though. She um... she has her own things to do today anyway."

@Laric

Arbok made a last apologetic look at the tabby before it left and mouthed another *sorry*.

"That's still amazing about cats purring to help heal themselves."

Maybe it was just some passive mimicry but Arbok had begun taking bites when she saw Laric doing it.

"Do you think you could send some my way in about two weeks? I get pains something awful in my back and stomach."

He was full of knowledge and while it was a bit odd he had a mansion she was pretty sure he was trustworthy.

"Oh yeah, what are you up to?"
Arbok wondered what a man who was wealthy and talked to cats did all his days. Eventually she would need to catch up with the others but for now she had time.
