Character History
Esmerelda's story does not start off on the happiest of notes. Her mother, unfortunately she died in childbirth thus leaving, to no fault or her own, without a motherly figure in her life. Her father, the late King Rowen raised her and her brother. Normally Routens, especially Routien rulers would produce between 3 to 5 offspring. Unfortunately, Rowen and his queen were not granted that blessing.
From a young age Rowen taught both children how to fight, they trained vigoursly in multiple fighting styles as well as cultural ones. Her and her brother were raised and sparred as equals. Devano, her brother, was meant to take the throne...things did not work out as planned and her brother died on the battlefield, decapitated beside her.
With this King Rowen announced Devika as the heir to the throne, causing an uproar from her uncles and other allies whom decided to withdraw themselves completely from the new queen and her fathers growing Kingdom. Now that King Rowen has passed, many of his allies lost faith in their new queen, unsure of her ability to rule.
Will she build an empire or will it all crumble to dust?

She has also received her markings ( tattoos) on her face, representing that she is an honored and decorated warrior amongst her people

Personality
Whilst the young queen is slow to anger, all those in her presence are to heed warning when she eventually loses her temper. Even before taking the throne, it was ingrained in the young monarch to be wary of who she trusts which has inevitably caused her expected trust issues in other relationships.
Devika is also known to be friendly, kind, posses a good sense of humor and a soft heart towards those in distress.
Besides these traits there are those that caused her father and now council a bountiful of grey hairs such as her stubbornness and her tendency to not deal well with authority.

Skills
As all Routen born, from those of the royal bloodline to comman peasants, Devika began combat training from the age of six.
Hard work has allowed her to master the sword and like each Routen warrior, her skill in hand to hand combat is great.
The young women however, was never intended to rule over the Kingdom, but that never stopped her from listening in on council meetings and negotiations from secret passageways and concealed entrances which has now come in handy as she is gifted the art of politics
The young ruler was also blessed with a magnificent poker face allowing her to fool many into believe what she wishes and conceal her true emotions.
Trained in ancient Routen Warfare ( standing on horse back to fight as well as learning to ride and tame wild bears)
