Dyvir D'Acard

DD of Sky Scoundrelin'
Character Profile
Profile

Dyvir D'Acard

Age  34
Gender  Male
Origin  The Cindersend
Occupation  Airship-pilotin’ scoundrel

Background:
For as long as Dyvir’s been alive, his life has belonged to the golden house of Talonrune and the furtherance of the D'Acard family. After working for years as muscle and blades and generations of maneuvering, the elven D'Acard family has clawed its way to middling standing in the house, the blood-spattered deed to the gambling den, “The Drifting Lotus” now held in a deathgrip by the remaining D’Acard siblings.

However, the pinnacle of one person’s aspiration is another’s stifling trap of an existence, and Dyvir used his family’s newfound status as collateral to gamble on a nimble little airship called the Cranefisher, determined to break free of the dead lands and the dying wind, if even for a moment.

Winning at the tables was a fine start to be sure, but Dyvir now gambles for ever higher stakes in the skies over Suldaza, and he's found that wind-tossed dice just don't abide cheating the same way.

Allegiance:
Despite his main allegiance being to the golden house, a few of the trusted airship captains and crew also belong to a small sect of the Cindersend known as the Wolfhawk Corsairs. Charters between captains are established for the sharing of plunder, for where one raiding airship might fear to ply the skies around Mirajh’dahl, a pack screaming down from above threatens even the largest of the rival city's shroudstone mining expeditions.

Appearance

Height  6'2"
Build  Lithe and limber, ever shifting, Dyvir carries himself like a coiled serpent.
Hair  Wind-caressed shaggy brown hair
Eyes  Brown

Dyvir, like many lower standing inhabitants of the Cindersend has been weathered and tanned by the sands of Suldaza and the harsh upbringing of the city. Sand-scoured leathers and loose cloth are his most common garb, alongside a good deal of stubble from days in the sky. His face boasts softly of his half-elf heritage, features too fine, ears a hair long to pass as fully human when they're not covered beneath long, wind-tousled hair. Dyvir's favored raiding weapon is a short cutlass, and a new one is nearly always thrust through his belt as the old ones are constantly lost. Several large, swirling runes evocative of the wind adorn their shoulders and crawl up their neck. These arcane glyphs serve as a focus for their shadeweaving when required.

Personality

Decadent, selfish rat bastard of a half-elf out to do whatever it takes to keep him (and to a lesser extent, the Wolfhawks) flying. Dyvir is always looking for an angle, an escape, something to keep his attention. He's a capricious whirlwind of woe to friend and foe alike who try to keep him still.
