Appearance
Height 5'9
Build Thin yet athletic
Hair Black
Eyes Very dark brown
Born long and thin, Enkai kept a lanky look even as he crossed the bridge to adulthood. His siblings tease him about his big head. When he was young, others constantly called him ugly, saying how unfortunate it was that he resembled a inky squid instead of the spirit he was named after: Yenkai.
Puberty hit him hard, and he is very aware that now he is considered handsome and treated differently for it. He uses his looks to his advantage, but it still leaves a bittersweet taste in his mouth. He keeps his hair rather short despite the current style being men with long, straight hair. His hair wouldn't fit it, always quick to wave or curl.
Not being popular or considered cool as a child did leave Enkai hyperaware of those who are beautiful and those who are not. He sees many as either the haves or the have-nots, and it influences his opinion of everyone, whether its looks, money, smarts, or power.
Personality
Obnoxiously full of himself and has yet to be crushed by a fully formed frontal lobe, this allows Enkai to believe the future will always be better today and that there's very little he can't handle.
Skills
His mother is a well-known raakgui tamer, dabbling in both hunting and catching raakgui and implementing karma to reduce the danger they may pose. This practice is being passed on to Enkai’s younger sister, who will inherit all of his mother’s knowledge. This doesn’t mean Enkai doesn’t know a trick or two with dealing with raakgui, but he has yet to handle something dangerous without his mentor’s or mother’s aid.
ASH CLAN:
Believed to be descended from the first shaman, the Ash Clan are potent in the ways of magic, and keep to the traditions of old, tending to many of the spirit shrines scattered across Aetochi. It is told that the Ash Clan was formed from the remnants of scattered clans, coming together after a cursed age of bloodshed. While many of their ilk still serve in the proxy conflicts of the Intendant, the elders of Ash try to instill the importance of undoing the curses of their past to the new generations.
KIPA (war fan): A large steel fan, helps to deliver messages to someone far away and can also be used as a weapon and shield. If he tries really hard, he can use air magic and the fan in tandem to glide short distances.
TEKPI (pointed metal prong projecting from a one-handed hilt, that has two shorter side prongs projecting from it from each side, giving it the appearance of a small trident of sorts): An offensive weapon that Enkai can imbue with water magic to extend the prongs.
SQUID (raakgui): a water elemental raakgui that aids Enkai in a few ways: an ink cloud that allows Enkai to hide and get away, possibly debilitating the enemy’s vision, allowing Enkai to utilize its suction cups to stick to surfaces for a moment, and a large tentacle to grab at something.
DIVINE ARTS (water and air): Enkai really wanted to be good with fire, but his talents were with his two least favorite elements: water and air. While his “go with the flow” nature might seem like a good fit, Enkai lacks much patience and wisdom and would rather remain completely offensive with fire.
