Hesarnain Isarluin

Age  97
Gender  Nonbinary
Origin  Harannossë Elf
Occupation  Artificer

An unrepentant and undisciplined scholar, Hesarnain eagerly sought the curse they now bear. Once a respected warrior among the Harannossë, now the last of many deserters in a dead land. Perhaps mad, perhaps enlightened, but most certainly playing with fire.

Appearance

Height  6'2"
Hair  red-gold
Eyes  dark

Sinewy, scarred, and draped in brocade, Hesarnain wears their past on their sleeve. Their frame is ever thin and lanky from a childhood marked with alternating feast and famine, but corded with the muscle won over years of weilding spear and sword. Pale scars attest years of frontline skirmishes narrowly won, crisscrossing over skin tanned with a life spent beneath the sun. Their hair, the color of warm-hued alloys, is kept long in typical elven style. Hesarnain's erstwhile status has afforded them the privelage to forgo weapons for jewels and silks. Beneath the right sleeve of the day's ensemble, a flash of bronze fingers—the prosthetic stretches up to just above the elbow, though the elf rarely wears clothes that reveal it in its entirety. Dark eyes, the not-quite-black of a thin plane of obsidian, look back.

Personality

Burning curiosity, scattered ambition, brusque efficiency, unintentional cruelty, unthinking kindness. Uninterested in people, interested in everything else beyond all sense or reason.

Skills

Summer Warrior:
Hesarnain is skilled with both glaive and single-edged sword. Most of their experience is as a footsoldier in larger battles, but they've been in enough flashy duels to hold their own in one-on-one combat.

Cindersend Artificer:
Hesarnain's true passion is the creation of enchanted items, surpassing in both beauty and utility. A shining blade that does not cut the living commissioned by a clumsy chef, an intricately carved spyglass that shows the folds of the weave, or a cloak that helps convince the winds to turn.

Deadlands Born:
Simply put, Hesarnain knows how to endure the wind and sun of both deadland and desert. They were born on the borders of both, and spent much of their life either watching it creep closer or venturing into it for the tactical advantage of terrain you tolerate slightly better than your enemy. They are not as comfortable as one who has spent their life deep within the unforgiving terrain, but they know enough to know their own limits, and to exercise a caution they rarely exhibit for other things.
