Juniper's Judgement

eyeball.webpA monster's eye preserved in a vial filled with viscous liquid. The eye has the greenish grain of freshly cut wood, optic nerves peeling off it fine and filamented like the roots of a plant. The vial is sealed shut with an iron clasp, and the whole grotesquerie hangs from a rusted chain.
Mechanism
One look of the eye will render a victim paralyzed for a couple of hours. The effect is magical in nature and might release with a potent enough counter-spell. In the victim's own mind, they see themselves turn to wood, and are unable to tear free from the illusion. The eye's magics are powered by the sun. After a single use, it takes a full day's worth of daylight to recharge.
