His eye looked at her, and saw it again. How tired she was. How done. Looked down at the drink. Ice cubes went click. Bad luck to leave a drink untended after a toast. Let out a push of breath. All lost to the currents.
Grabbed it up. "Para los muertos, y los vivos," he said. Knocked back the drink with a good long pull. Shook his head and led it back down. Felt it slosh and swirl. Mix in with all the other party favors he had gotten. Shots from old friends, and sips from his hunt for the drink of old Sinns. All mixed down in the cauldron of his gut.
