Lore Submissions

Lore entries can be submitted to the Codex at any time. There is no approval process for lore, but a moderator may reach out to the writer if the lore piece needs to be revised.

To post a lore article, go to the appropriate section in the Codex and click the [Post article] button. The main posting box is for the bulk of the lore article. This is the right place to put the general overview, any images and major sections. The first few sentences of this section will display on the codex page's preview square. The first image will display as the preview image.

Once you have a good overview going, scroll down and continue filling out the rest of the article fields. These fields will automatically format themselves when you post the thread!

Tip: Extra Customization
If you need more sections or would prefer to make things from scratch, then you don't have to follow the form template. Simply leave unneeded fields blank and only work in the primary posting box.

Where'd my Lore go?

It's probably been archived! The archives are unassigned lore articles which will not appear in the regular Codex categories. They live right below this stickied thread. A staff member might archive your lore piece for the following reasons:
  • A WIP has sat for too long without being completed
  • The article has been flagged for revisions
  • The lore is 'inactive', meaning it has not been used in play for a significant period of time
If your lore article has been archived, fear not. You can continue to work on it, and can restore it back to the Codex once the reason it was archived is addressed. Usually that means completing a WIP, adding references, or doing any revisions requested by a staff member. Once you are ready to have the lore reviewed again, reach out to a staff member and they can put the article back into the Codex.

✷ Keystone Lore

Entries marked with the ✷ symbol are considered keystone lore. They have been reviewed more carefully for immersion and consistency, and are widely referenced in threads. Players can submit their lore entries for Keystone status once certain requirements have been met.

Getting the Keystone tag is not required to write lore on the forums. Keystone lore pieces influence the setting on a larger scale. Submitting a lore piece to Keystone status means that you are comfortable with all players using and interpreting the lore, and that it may change over time.

To be approved, a Keystone lore submission should meet all requirements:
  • Only one submission per player every 1 month will be accepted.
  • All lore must first be referenced in-character before being submitted as a new entry. Usually, 2-3 mentions in different threads is enough of a reference. Depending on the scale of the lore entry, staff may require additional references.
  • References in thread must:
    • have at least 2 participating players.
    • follow all IC and OOC rules of play.
  • Lore must demonstrate an understanding of the setting of Shroudweavers, and not conflict with any existing Keystone Lore entry.
  • Lore must be distinct from the canon of other franchises, media, or literature.
  • Lore based on real-world folklore or mythologies will be reviewed more critically to ensure that it is both a) an original take and b) culturally sensitive.
When you're ready to start the approval process, just respond to this thread with a link to the lore page!
