Reira always prefers to talk about her businesses instead of herself. There's Gentle Crane Wellness Spa in the heart of Sonshan, perfectly placed between the Red and Gold District. The large, red three-story building is known for the healing treatments, massages, traditional medicines, large Sonshan style baths and Lapvonian steam rooms, Altalusian milk soaks and Suldazan salt rooms. There's rumors that on the third level a different sort of service can be provided but Reira assures it's only used for storage, her office, and to allow staff a place to rest during their mandatory one hour lunch break.
She also has a fortune-telling business, with her cash cow Lady Yerim who has only been wrong twice in her entire career about a person's future. It would be silly then if she also didn't have a matchmaking service alongside her fortune tellers, she has both buildings side by side on the same street. There are rumors that soon she'll be opening a restaurant and a noodle shop on opposite sides of Red District. Those who work for the city say the plots of land have already been purchased in her name.
Then there are the unsavory sort of dealings that Reira has her fingers in. She's been known to loan out money to those who ask, disclosing the interest rate until after getting a signature. Those who like to gamble may have noticed that in certain underground rings a red demon mask can be found hanging on a wall. Those who disappear and are never found again might have come across Reira's cleanup crew. There are whispers among the staff in Gold District that they caught sight of Reira having tea with city officials or Intendant families.
Sure, Reira can play pretend at being a business tycoon, and others may pretend with her so as not to upset the force of nature that she is. But there is a reason why she covers up when she goes out of the compound, there's a reason as to why knows many in high and low places. There's reasons as to why her siblings always come to her when there's a problem, why some of them even despise her for it.
The fall of the Hirawa crime syndicate in Sonshan opened the door to Reira's now deceased mother. Within twelve years, the rise of the Tsuibami family took the Hirawa family's place, the Red Demons quickly growing in numbers. Lady Tsuibami had taken many lovers, all her children related only through her own blood. It wouldn't be easy to choose her replacement, especially since she would consider men to take over the role as well. In the end, it came down to who wanted it more, who had the same hunger as Lady Tsuibami. Turns out, Reira wanted it more than her own mother.
