Where some men claw to greatness, their eyes seeing only the whims of self, others find themselves instead within the brilliance of Ko.
To the layman, the dedicated of Ko oft appear haughty, swathed in the accoutrements of sanctimony. By Santiago's estimations, only the blind speak such drivel. It remains the talk of those yet unsheltered by the Father's hand. A pity, really, as the scriptures denote Ko possessing enough arms to encompass the world. Denial of His love... well, perhaps death serves a fitting recourse.
The eldest of three, Santiago had a privileged upbringing. Given his choice of career, be it a commission in the Legion or admission to the Magisterium and any pursuit between, he discovered a calling for the hands of Ko under the guidance of a family friend; a member of the high clergy, a retired Primus Khashatrii decorated in the retreat from the old capital. He learned of the Father's love, of the grace lent to any who would convert. It resonated in the young man. Gave him purpose. Rather than labor in pursuit of another's greatness, or perhaps even of his own, he could instead spread
good in a world cloaked in shadow.
Pity him not: he is old enough to understand the lines of his folly, even as he hides it behind the mantle of Ko.
Appearance
The ancestor of a supposed union between a Miraj'Dah expatriate and an esteemed Elect of the People's Senate, Santiago's features confirm many of these rumors. Standing tall for his people, with skin and eyes dark and a voice with surprising depth for his lanky frame (one trained for oration, practiced in speaking to crowds), his topography is dominated by ascetic lines. Given to devotion, his eyes are oft circled with the effects of candlelit reading, his nails well-kempt to best maintain the literature in his possession.
Personality
A well-read individual taken by scholarly passion, his later years have instead been dominated by faith. It shapes most discourses he participates in, much as it shapes the lines through which he defines himself.
Skills
Versed in languages and writing, in speechcraft and oration, Santiago would consider himself a rounded individual, lacking only in areas of conflict.
