As the embrace continues, and Dove gently sways, her wings start to slowly come to a halt, gently withdrawing them back to her body. Her face nuzzles into Vyn's shoulder, her hands sliding up Vyn's back to pull her tighter. Not like it was that much of a success- but, you know, she tried. She was just feeling that affectionate, okay?

Her joy radiated like the warmth of a gentle summer day- the trembling fading into calm, like the sunlight breaching the branches of the trees, and her breathing a gentle cadence to a long forgotten song.

Perhaps it was a tad awkward how long she held Vyn. But what she said next probably finished the moment so succinctly- gently pulling away, and holding her in place, bright eyes and a happy smile, trying to mask the sparkle on her cheeks.

".. I might not have many happy memories. But, that's okay. You give me new, wonderful ones that I value. And one day, I will have so many, I will forget the bad ones."

Eventually, she slowly releases Vyn. "I.. should probably let you go though. I.. It's getting late, there's still things you need to do. And.. I guess.." she looked to the wagon. "I guess I got some moving to do!" she chirped excited.

Just watched her for a bit. Wings drawn in, voice soft around something too bright for this hour. That kind of joy was a precious thing. A rare bird that landed only once and scared easy. Dove felt like a cup rinsed in silence. Wine gone, but not the stain. Something good was poured into the space between them, and Vyn didn't know if she was the right thing to fill what had been emptied. She'd always thought herself water, but maybe she too was polluted. Maybe the cup would never run clean again.

But she wasn't in the wrong place. What Vyn couldn't, Jem could. The Elum could.

„You'll need string“ She knocked on Wagonwood, her voice quiet. „For curtains. Maybe a bit of chalk to mark the jars. And something to keep the moths out.“ Her smile was tired. Strong. But old.

„I'll ask around for your harness.“

Stole some more candy to make the moment seem lighter than it felt. And left her there.
