Jahára was born on the slum streets of Crorefell. She was born with a name she couldn't remember and a mother she didn't know.
But steel was born in her spine and when pickpocketing no longer bought her safety among the streets, she walked straight into a brothel one day and never looked back. Her body a fair trade for the promises of safety and luxury fed to her from someone else's spoon.
It was here she learned the art of manipulation. Illusion. Puppeteering dreams and nightmares of her clientele in equal measure. How to cater to the ideals of men and get what she wanted so she could live another day, earn another coin.
This is when she knew that money was the only thing that would buy her true freedom in this cruel world.
With gods of trickery unbeknownst at her side, Jahára whispered a handful of offers into the ears of wealthy patrons, and soon she not only found her contract bought and absolved, but she had enough to invest in the empire she planned to build.
Jahára’s ambitions led her into the company of the First and Last, a circle of cadre whose elite members are known to wield the greatest influence in Crorefell. She clawed her way to the mantle of "First," though only her cadre brothers and sisters know this secret, leaving the rest of Crorefell to think it be a man who holds the position.
Under her alias of Ahmir, she founded the Gilded Peacock Guild, an underground trading network dealing in black-market goods—precious silks, rare spices, forbidden artifacts, and contraband magic. It became a black-market empire, where alliances were forged in the shadows, and power shifted not in open courts but in hushed rooms over clandestine deals.
Her front-facing persona in Crorefell’s chaotic mercenary-state remains that of a successful merchant, rising from the streets to wealth. But behind this respectable facade, Jahára pulls the strings of her underworld empire, where trust is scarce, and betrayal is the currency of survival. Few know the full extent of her reach, save her loyal cadre and those few entrusted with the city's darker secrets.
Now with a new lease on life, Jahára can take her merchant empire to new heights. No longer shackled to the hubris of men who thought themselves better than the sea urchin who had climbed her way to greatness.

When she assumes her disguise as Ahmir, she uses what minor illusion magic she possesses and becomes a self-important man.
Jahára's constant companion is that of her devoted sand cat, Sarabi.
