Naya Vapna stinks of corruption. The vultures have gathered about the yet breathing corpse of the Raj Imperatus. The potential my father saw in this great Empire died with him. It rests at the bottom of the Boiling Sea as punishment for fabricated betrayals. His was a dream of Republic. Where swords would rise to protect the dignity of this great people and turn their ambitions to light. In the end nothing awaited us but darkness. I haven't been able to escape this pit. I'm surrounded by too many faces. Of my lost parents and lost love. Of our betrayers...
And my name. What was my name?
I am left in tatters. The Writ of Karma teaches that only blood can pay for blood. Vengeance is the law of Legion.
But what can fill the hole in my heart? How does a broken weapon once again become whole?
The Vexion name once belonged to a storied family of legionnaires in the Arshakan Empire, ever proud to serve in the Karmic Legions and loyal to the Raj Imperatus. Suresh Vexion had dreams of guiding the Imperium towards a democratic republic. A popular figure, his ambitions led him to gaining many allies in high places within and outside of the capital of Naya Vapna. There were many who could see that the Empire would not live as it had and would need to change in order for their people to survive and prosper. One of Abraxas' allies would betray him to members of the Imperial Family after a meeting with members of the Freet States. It had been Abraxas's plan to use their swords to take control of the capital and oust the Raj Imperatus from power in order to facilitate his dream of a peaceful future.
The Raj Imperatus sanctioned a writ of execution upon the Vexion Clan. The Imperial Guard saw that Suresh's corpse would rest at the bottom of the Boiling Sea, the ultimate insult for one who betrayed the trust of the Imperator. His wife and sons burned with his estate and all of his servants. His eldest, Quintus, who had been disinherited from his family's fortune had long lived as a mercenary in the City of Fools. For many years, he had made a name for himself as a capable sword for hire. Once news of his family's death reached him, he'd used his own impressive wealth to amass an army of mercenaries to march on the frontiers of the Imperium. His campaign raised many eyebrows, including those within the Senate as many of them were curious as to whether or not the son of Abraxas could make the Imperium bleed.
Recognizing his threat, the Raj Imperatus quelled his incursion with one of his legions and Quintus was hung puiblicly once he was captured. The afterlife that Quintus was expecting was not the one he'd found. Instead he'd only seen the void. An absence of comfort that good men imagined they'd find after living a righteous life. He'd lost count of the amount of days he'd spent in that void. He'd wondered to himself, perhaps for an eternity, if his family had suffered the same fate. To live in darkness as he would. Before long is consciousness grew too weary to ask questions and he allowed himself to become one with death and fade...
A spark woke him and bade him to claw his way out of his shallow graave. He was guided by a visage. The picture in his heaad of something holy. Something that offered him the answers he sought and the thing he set out for that led to him being buried:
Vengeance.

The Masque of Tetron - Before the rise of the Arshakan Empire and perhaps even before the rise of the Deva, there existed Tetron and those who worshipped him. How widespread his influence was is lost to time. Whatever domain the entity ruled over are memories belonging to the dead. What is clear to Quintus is that that Masque is inhabited by an angry spirit that claims to be the deity itself. It is drawn to those who have a great need for vengeful bloodshed.
The Masque erases the identity of the wearer and hides it from the world. So long as the wearer makes use of the Masque, their true name is unknowable. They make use of darkness to combat their foes and easily slip from the grasp of their pursuers. The body becomes capable of shrugging off wounds and blows that the average combatant may not be capable of withstanding. And so long as the wearers bears Tetron's visage, their own will fades away until only Tetron's exists.
Combat Experiece - As a former Kshatri and a mercenary, Quintus is learned when it comes to combat and warfare.
Connections - A vast network of connectrions throughout the Empire and beyond.
