Appearance

Height  5'5
Build  Scholar-thin
Hair  Long, straight, auburn
Eyes  Green

Tobi fits neatly into the margins of every young academic, suffering the indignity of ink-smudged cuffs and fingerprinted spectacles with the kind of devotion that’s cost him any trace of muscle or rough edge. A tributary of Elvish descent grants him just enough sharpness to meet the minimum requirement for boyish charm: a pointed nose, pointed ears, and cat-like green eyes. His flesh is similar to hammered copper, pockmarked along the jaw and neck by the ghosts of some childhood rash, but still managing to catch light like old coins in library dust.

There is no real sense of personal style to distinguish him from his orderly peers. He craves natural comforts and finds them easily enough in vestiary robes, or the dusty, three-quarter-length coat he borrowed once from a friend and never returned. When not drawn into a chignon or simple tail, his auburn hair falls to his mid-back, a testament to restraint rather than vanity. His scarred hands are always full: cradling mugs of coffee, thumbing through frayed books, cupping the glow of shroud or gemstone, or fumbling with the tools of a squire’s task.

Personality

  • Brilliant but bumbling
  • More book-sense than bravery
  • Overthinks, under-explains
  • Disruptively curious
  • Restless advocate
  • Passionate naturalist

Skills

Fluent in three languages: Common and two regional Kaikias dialects. He’s currently wrestling with Runespeak. Known for disappearing into the library for days at a time, he has recently begun balancing his research with fieldwork, often requesting permission to roam the Wyld and gather firsthand data.

Tobi is tapped into the channels that speak to the shroud and soul of the earth, pursuing a path aligned with Loch, Flame, and Wild. Though not yet a master of geomancy, he can divine the land’s memory and unearth hidden truths, skills that serve him well in decryption and identification. Though he can manipulate soil, stone, and sediment, he’s hopelessly clumsy with a blade and a confirmed disappointment in the tiltyards.
