What can be said about a simple woman who has not done any great deeds or witnessed any epic events? Venla is from a modest background. Her parents were smallfolk, without any notorious family name or impressive resources. She was born and raised in a small village and has never been outside the area. She is the middle child, neither the youngest nor the oldest. She had a fairly carefree childhood... Sure, some years the harvests were bad, but luckily, she never truly had to starve. Her family brewed ale, beer and mead a trade passed down through generations. When she was young, her chores were simple: sweeping the floors, and helping her mother prepare ingredients. As she grew older, the work became heavier. By the time she was strong enough to carry barrels, her father had begun teaching her the craft; how to recognize good grain, how long to let the mash sit, and how to tell if the fermentation was going right just by the scent. Her father wasn’t much involved in her upbringing until she was seven or eight, that is, when she was old enough to understand instructions and strong enough to start helping in earnest. When her parents died, her older brother took over the brewery, as was his right. Like many middle children, she had no real inheritance to hope for. So she found work at the her aunt's tavern, earning her own money, serving the very brews her family had been making for years.
Appearance
Height 5,5 feet
Build Lithe
Hair Ginger
Eyes Green
Her red hair is fine and thin, of medium length, and ends above her shoulders. She prefers to wear her hair down, but when she's working she usually braids it.
She usually hums some melody, if she's not busy with a conversation.
The most eye-catching thing about her appearance is two scars on her face. A memory from a fight with an angry little brother and a pitchfork.. Amazingly, it missed the eye.

Personality
Venla has lived her whole life in the small village she now lives in. She knows everyone who lives there and everyone knows her. She works in the family-run tavern, together with her cousins and her aunt.
She has been a dreamer ever since she was little and together with her younger siblings they played very elaborate games. They built their own worlds based on fairy tales they had heard. They were knights, kings, trolls, princesses and magical animals. Everything that their sleepy little village didn't have. The older they got, the more responsibility they were allowed to take on in the brewery and the fewer games there were. She still dreams and that makes her naive. Maybe even a bit of a romantic?
Since she comes from a family that runs an inn and a brewery, she has of course been raised to have an open heart, a welcoming manner and a great sense of hospitality. Venla wants the people around her to feel good. She loves meeting adventurers and listening to their stories... she dreams of running away with them, but her sense of duty and the fact that she loves her family keep her there. But she of course wants more from life than what the little village can really offer, but that's not something she admits. Neither for herself nor for others.

Skills
Venla’s skills are very much rooted in practical, everyday life. Knowledge that keeps a household, a farm, or a business running smoothly. Hard work is simply a part of life, and she doesn't have the luxury to shy away from it. Because if she don't do the work, she won’t eat. She knows how to work the land, care for animals, and handle the changing seasons. Every day she rise before dawn to tend to chores that never truly end.
She has a good grasp of simple medicine, like which herbs help a fever, how to clean a wound, and how to bandage an injury properly. It’s nothing advanced, just practical knowledge passed down from the olde people in the village.
She can cook well enough and she can sew... because clothes don’t make themselves.
