Yuda does not resemble his brothers and sisters. For one, he's the tallest and broadest of them all, something he still feels self-conscious about despite his soft smiles at their teasing. Secondly, his eyebrows are thicker than his brothers, and he has little trouble growing a beard, though he keeps his face smooth. And thirdly, and perhaps worst of all, everyone complains about his sweat smelling.
He didn't hear the rumors of his mother's fling with a hunter from Lapvona until he was nine. The hunters from a decade ago returned with frosti and moln pelts to trade for the various bounties found in a fishing village. Yuda thought he saw a man with dark hair and a nose like his. He hid from him, busying himself with harpoons and nets so their eyes would not meet.
As the friendly giant in his family, Yuda tries his best to be seen as less threatening by wearing long, baggy clothes. He often ties his long, thick hair into two braids so he can focus on his work. There is a long scar from belly button to his left cheek, like a vine reaching to his eye.
Personality
Yuda is known for his kindness, soft laughs, and little smiles. He tries to make himself smaller, scrunching up into himself and apologizing for the space he takes up. He has a big appetite, though he never takes the last piece of anything, and is incredibly respectful to strangers and familiars alike.
Skills
Cormorant fishing is a unique fishing technique found only on the island of Aetochi. Using Cormorants to hunt the fish, the fisherman must then carefully have the bird regurgitate it out without damaging the fish or the bird. Others have teased Yuda for apologizing to the cormorants.
Yuda knows sea and river life, bait, harpoons, nets, fishing poles, and traps. He is an excellent swimmer and diver and great to have on a boat, especially when rowing is involved. He's not a bad cook, but sometimes he gets overzealous with the salt.
