Lantern Flower
This delicate glass lantern emits a warm golden light, even though it is cold to the touch and lightly dewed over with condensation. Inside, in place of a fire, rests a Cempaxochitl flower. The flower looks as fresh as the day it was picked, and its golden petals glow with buttery luminescence. Mechanism Plucking a petal from the marigold and laying it atop a corpse summons the deceased's spirit for a few minutes. The spirit can hear and speak to the living, but cannot interact with the physical world. If the corpse used to summon the spirit is incomplete or parts of it destroyed, the connection will be weaker and the spirit more difficult to commune with.
Juniper's Judgement
A monster's eye preserved in a vial filled with viscous liquid. The eye has the greenish grain of freshly cut wood, optic nerves peeling off it fine and filamented like the roots of a plant. The vial is sealed shut with an iron clasp, and the whole grotesquerie hangs from a rusted chain. Mechanism One look of the eye will render a victim paralyzed for a couple of hours. The effect is magical in nature and might release with a potent enough counter-spell. In the victim's own mind, they see themselves turn to wood, and are unable to tear free from the illusion. The eye's magics are powered by the sun. After a single use, it takes a full day's worth of daylight to recharge.
Blight's Bane
A duelist's blade, with a clam shell guard. Its run gleams with a darkness that seems to drink the light, and glitter with what a mind wants to see. The smith swears, no matter what they tried to shape the weapon to, the wretched metal knew what it was. Mechanism Such a malice must have a will of it's own. The blade seems to know what it is striking at, and it strikes all the swifter where the blight is involved. It's subtle with its machinations, most of the time. A hit that should not have landed, finds its mark. A blow that would have been fatal is deftly parried. But sometimes, the sword can't help but be a little flashy...
Anamnesic Amber
Also known as a memory stone, anamnesic amber is an enchanted resource that can be created, given the proper skill and discipline. It is prepared by taking a piece of raw amber, carving runes onto its surface, and imbuing it with magic. The Knights of Anathaeum have long practiced this enchantment as part of their Pursuit of Flame. However, they are not the only ones who know how to prepare anamnesic enchantments, and weavers across the world can produce a similar material. Once primed correctly, chunks of anamnesic amber can absorb a single image or memory from any person who touches them. That memory then becomes 'engraved' within the gemstone. The engraved memory can then be replayed as light emitted from the amber. This light must...
